I received my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Grand Valley in 2009, and I worked as a programmer for 9 years before starting work in the schools. I work a lot with the tech for Covenant. For a while, I taught an introductory course to Computer Programming and Computer Apps until I became a full time band instructor. I learned a lot from Mr. Kamper and I took over for him a few years ago. I currently teach Band at Covenant and the middle school/junior high ages at our other Christian schools.
My parents are Bob and Vicki Elzinga, and they and I are members at Grace Protestant Reformed Church. I attended Hope and Covenant growing up, and I am thankful to God and to my parents that they sacrificed in order to send me and my sisters to good Christian schools. At Covenant, we experience the tremendous blessing of the communion of the saints, which is evident everywhere from the teacher’s lounge to the hallways to the classrooms.
I am thankful that God has led me here and given me the opportunity to work alongside many of my former teachers.
